Pool Table Brush

A pool table brush is a soft-bristled brush, typically made of horsehair or nylon, used to remove chalk dust, lint, and debris from the felt surface and rails of a billiard table. Regular use helps maintain a smooth playing surface and prolongs the life of the felt.

How to Use a Pool Table Brush:

• Brush with the Nap: Always brush in straight, overlapping strokes following the direction of the cloth's nap (grain). Brushing against the nap or in a circular motion can force debris deeper into the felt and potentially damage the fabric.
• Use Gentle, Firm Pressure: Apply a firm but gentle pressure, avoiding aggressive scrubbing, which can damage the felt fibers.
• Focus on Accumulation Areas: Pay extra attention to areas around the rails and where balls are spotted, as these spots collect more chalk dust. A smaller rail brush can be helpful here.
• Consider a Vacuum (Optional): After brushing, a vacuum with a soft brush attachment can be used with light suction to pick up fine particles not fully removed by the brush. Avoid heavy-duty vacuums as they can pull at the felt fibers.
